Store Policies

At Sonoma Coast Divers, our goal is to make sure you're completely satisfied with the products and services you receive here. If at any time you have a question, return, or need something taken care of, please feel free to come on in the store and talk with us; we'll work hard to resolve any issue. To be clear, we wanted to put our store policies right on our website so at any time they are readily available to you.

Returns

We gladly accept any unused product, with tags and packaging intact, and your receipt in-hand, for a full refund or exchange within 30 days of the date of purchase.

Items that are used in freshwater only, and are in resalable condition with packaging present, may be exchanged for a similar item or for store credit within 30 days of the date of purchase. How will we know if you used it salt water? Trust us, we can tell and we're not amused when you try it.

Items used in salt water are not returnable. We are proud to offer you the highest quality equipment that has not been used by anyone else, please don't ask us to resell your used item.

For items returned more than 30 days after the date of purchase, store credit or exchanges are at the discretion of the store.

Exceptions To This Policy

Snorkels; if you feel the need to return a snorkel, or anything else that has been in your mouth, the cost of replacing the mouthpiece will be deducted from your refund or exchange. We know many of you buy just to avoid rental gear at a destination, and we want you be confident that what you're going to put in your mouth hasn't been "tested". We do not make exceptions to this rule.

Special Orders; if you've ordered something we do not stock in the store and you'd like to return it, there will be a return shipping charge and occasionally a restocking fee from the manufacturer. We will get all of the specifics about these fees before we process your return, so you know exactly what to expect.

Rental Gear

To reserve equipment, the entire rental must be paid for in advance. This holds the exact items you need and guarantees them for your rental dates.

Cancellations are not refunded so be sure you need the gear before you reserve it, we do under special circumstances give rental credit for future use.

There are no refunds for items returned unused.

Gear must be returned washed with soap and water or a $25 service fee will be charged. You are welcome to wash your gear here if needed. If it smells like fish and seaweed when you get back, we will ask you to wash it again or pay the fee.

For rental regulators, if you return the regulator without the 1st Stage Dust Cap put back in place, there will be a $25 rebuild fee to rebuild that regulator before it can be rented out again.

Authorized Dealer Info

Many of the companies we buy from have specific policies when it comes to how much we can discount equipment and even how we can sell it. Many manufacturers do not authorize the sale of their gear over the phone, by mail, or over the internet. When you buy from one of those avenues, among other potential problems, your equipment will not be covered by any manufacturers warranty- No matter what the website or person you talk to or email says. The manufacturers send representatives to our store yearly to update us on all of the new and current products and teach us how to properly fit and match you with the best equipment for the type of diving you will be doing. They also only allow us to sell the equipment for a certain percentage off. This price protection ensures that you're getting quality equipment with a full manufacturers warranty, a proper fit, and you'll walk out with it assembled and knowing all the features. We'll give you the best deal we can, every time. We want you to know we'll stand behind our equipment and we'll go to bat for you if there's ever a problem, even if your gear is out of warranty. That's the benefit of buying from us.

There's a lot of gear out there and a lot of it probably won't suit your needs, whether you're a warm-water diver, California cold-water diver, cave diver, or whatever.

We want to make sure you'll be safe and happy with what you buy so you can enjoy years of diving adventures.
